About Delta Heart Music:
|
Delta Heart was started in 2012 as a four piece band specializing in classic rock, blues, and a bit of country. The roots of Delta Heart, through one family, the Earnhearts, were sunk deep across four generations in the rich Mississippi Delta musical soil. The Baby Boomers of the clan loved the rock, soul, and blues music that saturated the airwaves of the 60’s.Having grown up singing in church and at family functions, picking up a musical instrument and entertaining a crowd was second nature. They recruited a drummer (because nobody in the family could ever play those things!),formed a group, and set out to make as much music and have as much fun as the law allowed. If a little money came their way...all the better!
Over time, the group members grew up, got married, had kids, and launched into their own careers. Over the years ,stories of “the band” became legendary(even though somewhat exaggerated)and inspired some members of thefamily’s next generation to pick up guitars, learn some chords, and try their hand at music. In 2012, Byron Earnheart, having moved to Tunica MS (the ancestral home of this musical family) began to rekindle the musical fire with his uncle, Winston. After playing some local venues, they called Byron’s father, Aubrey, to come sit in. It did not take long before the guys, with their knack for musicianship and vocal harmonies, slid right back into their old tricks. A call was placed to the last original drummer, Porter Robinson, and Delta Heart was on its way to becoming something special. In 2015, another Earnheart cousin, Clinton Bailey, was added to the group who with his keyboard and vocal skills, rounded out today’s Delta Heart sound.
Having played all over north Mississippi for everything from Lion’s Club dinners to rehearsal dinners to weekend stints at iconic locales, Delta Heart has been described by some of its fans as “the house band of the Delta” and it’s a point of pride for them!
And if that wasn't enough...the guys often work together in other permutations of Delta Heart. Byron plays solo gigs as well as praise/worship music for local churches as well as the ever-entertaining "Doc & Byron" 2-man drum and guitar group.
The group consists of Byron Earnheart (vocals/rhythm guitar/bass), Aubrey Earnheart (bass/vocals/rhythm guitar), Winston Earnheart (lead guitar/vocals), Clinton Bailey (vocals, keyboards), Porter Robinson (drums), and Roy Drake (sound).
Specializing in blues, classic rock-n-roll, a dash of country, and a sprinkle of original compositions, Delta Heart is truly “the house band of the Delta.”
